Central bank says not to prolong data security regulation ease

MOSCOW, Nov 23 (PRIME) -- The central bank sees no need in prolonging a regulatory ease on information security of banks past 2022, Vadim Uvarov, department head, said at a conference of the Association of Russian Banks on Wednesday.

"Speaking in general about the analysis of oversight practices from the moment of introduction of the stabilization measures in the area of information security, we have detected no cases of serious risks to information and operating security," the official said.

He added that prolongation of the measures is seen as unnecessary.

Earlier in 2022, the central bank cancelled punishments for banks for breaches in information protection measures, if caused by sanctions, until January 1, 2023.
